Augmented Reality iPad - Conference Booth

Role: UX design, wireframes only. The UI was done by a third party.

Understanding advanced systemic mastocytosis (AdvSM). Advanced Systemic Mastocytosis is a group of rare mast cell disorders where uncontrolled cell growth has spread to more than one part of your body, and is stopping your body from working.

Problem: Our client wanted a unique way to educate and illustrate the issues of AdvSM for doctors at their EU conferences where multiple languages exist in country to country. They wanted to present a challenge to attending doctors that would educate while entertaining them by showing 3 types of patients with the disease.

Solution: We presented the idea of an Augmented Reality experience for multiple conferences in the EU where the language could easily be changed. The experience would be accessed through an ipad on the conference floor. The user would be taken through a series of screens that presented questions and answers that would illustrate the issues of the desease while offering a small challenge to the attendees.

Prototype: Wireframes were developed to illustrate the process of using the interface and the screens the user would be presented with during the question and answer process. The body image was used to illustrate symptoms related to user selections. This iterative process culminated in wireframes that were passed off to the developers.

Outcome: The successful AR product was used at conferences in Spain, Italy, Britain and France.
