Project Background

The client asked for a unique way to educate people on diet and exercise in their upcoming Diabetes booth. Solution: We designed a game that challenged the user to answer 7 questions in 90 seconds for a chance to be top winner on a leaderboard. The game includes error messages that give correct answers, a countdown clock, random set of 7 questions so a user can get a different set of questions each time the game is played.

Process

When brainstorming for this project, we looked at the data from a diabetes physician questionnaire and noticed a wide gap in nutricional knowledge concerning diabetes patients. There seemed to be a need to clarify a positive diet plan for diabetes patients. A short game that mildly tested a physicians knowledge on the subject might become a catalyst to discovery. We devised an early concept and pitched it to the client.

When the proposal was accepted by the client, we proceeded with wireframes and worked out the kinks in an iterative process which was then used as the basis by the art director for the look and feel. We included a randomizing feature in the back end so no game would include the same questions which would engage repeat playing. In all only 7 questions are in each game but 25 questions were written.
